With Video. Asking $725. A really nice playing Olds Recording Cornet is offered here. This cornet is from around 1956 and features the Re-O-Loy (Bronze?) bell AND leadpipe. If you like a dark cornet - this one plays with a lovely, dark, warm sound.
This Recording cornet takes the standard shank mouthpiece that is commonly used today, not the original, larger Olds shank initally used on the Recording and older Olds cornets.
Valve action is good, as is compression; not like new but good. I've used Ultra Pure as my valve oil for this cornet; not the Classic Ultra Pure. This cornet PLAYS and SOUNDS good but it is used, has some pings, and one dent just above the waterkey. The dent along the leadpipe is not easy to get to and probably isn't cost efficient to fix. The bell may be straightened slightly, and this will improve appearance. This Recording cornet plays fine as is, and needs nothing for one to enjoy playing or hearing it.
