1961 Professional Holton Galaxy Trumpet for sale: $450 + Shipping (will SHIP ONLY, and only to the Continental U.S.). I accept Paypal in payment only.
The instrument is in nice overall condition, with much of its original lacquer still intact (I’d estimate 75% +), though there is a bit of slight “clouding” in it, mainly on the bell flare. Also, its nickel-plating is in nice overall shape, being about 80% intact, with some wear only on the usual contact points.
Note that this version of Galaxy came with lacquered yellow brass slides (first year, or couple of years of manufacture only, I believe).
Importantly, its lead pipe, and tuning slide, are clean inside, with no visible signs of red rot, nor does any of its tubing show signs of it either.
The horn’s surfaces have very few dings, pings dents, or scratches on them, and all its tubing and bell are straight and true.
All slides move, and its valves are in nice condition, with very little wear, and they operate as they are supposed to (all inner and outer felts, corks, etc. have been replaced).
The horn plays with a full, darker tone (most likely due to its nickel plating) and a solid core to the sound, but it can also light up some, with the right mouthpiece and approach.
The horn comes with its original, solid wooden case (which its exterior I refurbished somewhat) in very good condition (no keys to its locks), along with its original music lyre, and manufacturer paperwork. I am also throwing in a no-name mouthpiece with the horn and its case.
