Seeking opinions from anybody using a Callet SC8 mouthpiece (pros, cons, comfort, sound, intonation, ease to play, comparisons to other brands, etc). Expressing my thanks in advance. - regards. _________________ Bach Stradivarius, 180S37 (Silver Model 37 Bb), ML75618, purchased new in 1972. |

Jerome designed the Sc8 for players that want a wide cup but with more ease and endurance than typical wide cups. It has been very popular among classical and pops players. The 1sS and 1sC are his most used mouthpieces, but they are on the other end of the spectrum, very narrow cups. I used a 1sC today for a long gig with lots of solos - great mouthpieces for jazz, Latin, R&B. |

Thanks for replies. I am hoping to find someone who owns and plays the SC8, for real-life feedback. _________________ Bach Stradivarius, 180S37 (Silver Model 37 Bb), ML75618, purchased new in 1972. |

Sorry, I wasn't clear. I do own an SC8. And it's a great mouthpiece for players who need a wide cup or want a more spread sound - much more effificient, easier to play than traditional wide cups. Excellent pitch, and the rim is wide and very comfortable. But I prefer narrower cups so SC1sS and 1sC are what I use most of the time. |
