| In real life, I teach college English, but when a crisis arises, I'm trumpet man. For the last two decades, my horn stayed in a closet in my mother's house. About to sell it, a New York Bach for heaven's sake!, I started playing again. I hadn't realized my amazing horn had leaky valves and leadpipe: was that why I couldn't hit the high notes why I quit? Now I'm surrounded by cornets and trumpets and am just waiting in my basement for that big break. |
