Am I missing some special feature, or is $5K not pretty steep for this (ordinary?) Olds Super:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/1939-SUPER-OLDS-Trumpet-/120794112313?pt=Brass_Instruments&hash=item1c1fe3e139#ht_870wt_1185

Not sure if the seller is a scammer, or just a dreamer, but according to Robb Stewart, Uan Rasey never played a Super, but rather a specially designed version of the Recording, for over 26 years:

Obviously it'll be hard to prove that the seller ever spoke to Uan Rasey, who died last month.

I liked his comment that at 5K this horn is actually a bargain

Yes, it looks like a nice horn and was likely well cared for, though nothing special...other than these are the most sweeping statements and claims I've seen in quite a while!

This seller, "elsmoko" always has crazy high prices. Just looks like he's been smoking something a little stronger this time.

He's fishing. He baited his hook with his enticing come-on, and he's taking a chance that one very hungry, gullible fish may come along and bite.

What's he got to lose?

As John says, it's not Marek (hotdeal1smoko/coolhorns) this time, as he lives in NY, and the $5K Super I referenced is in Burbank. Marek does have a Super listed, but it's a bargain at only $3499:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/ORIGINAL-LACQUER-VINTAGE-OLDS-SUPER-TRUMPET-LOS-ANGELES-BUY-NOW-MAKE-GOOD-OFFER-/290612597074?_trksid=p4340.m185&_trkparms=algo%3DSIC.NPJS%26its%3DI%26itu%3DUA%26otn%3D5%26pmod%3D120794112313%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3D3560251841811161266#ht_1093wt_1185

And now I see the original listing has ended (pulled by the seller)?

That's the "reasonable" Olds Super I posted above. A real bargain at only $3499.95!
