Anyone know where I might find a hardshell mouthpiece case that hold about 12 pieces? I did see a case on the GR website that holds 24 I think but don't really need one that big. (yet).
Is such a case made? |

Last time this came up, I suggested getting one of those plastic compartmented boxes (for fishing lures or hardware or such) from Walmart or other discount store. Pad with felt or chamois, and you're done. Much cheaper than them there fancy cases.

Whoa, no suggestions to me, and to bother you or anything, but what are you doing that requires you to be actively playing on that many mouthpieces????? |

Sorry I didn't explain better. I actively only play on 2 different pieces - A GR66MS and a Schilke 15C4. I have just collected some other pieces over the years that I want to protect and display if someone wants to try out some different pieces. I know I could just throw them in an old shoe box but I want something a little nicer than that. You would think that as many trumpet players that are out there, and all the mouthpieces some go through, that multi-size mouthpiece cases would be a hot item.
All suggestions appreciated. |

I believe Don was referring to an earlier post I had made about using the multi-compartment fishing lure/screw/bolt cases for mouthpieces. These cases are generally made out of plastic with clear end views. This lends itself to putting little self made labels on them to identify which mouthpiece is in a particular slot, e.g. 14A4A, 1X, etc. _________________ Best Regards, Play Well!! |

I bought a hard shell mp. case that holds 8 trumpet mps. from Mary Curry a few years ago. |

If you want something real nice, ProTec has a 16 and 24 mouthpiece case for sale. Same material as their other cases. Of course, you should be willing to shell out the cash for it. Here's the link: http://www.ptcases.com/brasswind.htm _________________ --Matt--

Lucky to have a pal who made a fancy wooden case for me. 'Twas lots of fun getting it padded just so. I don't carry it around much as I stick to a couple of mpc's...now, after Mpc Safari II (I was in '93).
The fishing tackle box is a great idea; just hate to toss my fishy stuff.
My Bob Reeves is a nicely padded 8-mpc case that is fantastic for 4. The Pro-tecs are nice too.

Sorry to omit the reference, pedaltonekid, and I would say you're right. I think posted the idea a number of years ago to TPIN, but you are the one who had it here first -- kudos, sir, and my apologies!
One word of caution: take mpc or something with which to measure the box. A number of them seem to be just a bit too small to hold a larger mpc (e.g., my Bach 1B practice mpc). _________________ Don Herman/Monument, CO
