Does anyone know which GR piece would have a comparable "feel" as a Giardinelli C5 piece with respect to rim measurement? I was surprised that the company couldn't provide this info without "digitizing" the C5 for a significant extra cost. Thanks, Jim

Hi Jim,

You are right in that GR could only make the exact feel of the 5 by digitizing it, and they aren't in the business of copying mouthpieces, although Kanstul is.

GR has taken mouthpiece design so much beyond the old methods of measuring and manufacturing. They are taking the science of how a mouthpiece performs to an entirely different level. Their computer-controlled machines had to be re-programmed to the 1/1000th of an inch (vs. the standard 1/100th of an inch) because of Gary's very uncompromising standards and measurements.

I'd recommend that you contact Bruce Lee at NorthernBrass.com. Bruce will guide you to the GR that will make you happy, and you'll quickly appreciate the GR differences in your playing!

Sincerely,

Tom Turner

Go right to the source, http://www.grmouthpieces.com
Tell them what you are playing and request their Mouthpiece Questionnaire. They are only a click away!
