How about Spiri (http://www.spiri.ch/english/spiri_trumpet/spiri_trompeten_2_eng.html) trumpets?

I suppose brands like Amati, Winston, Monique, Fasch, Maestro, Laval, etc., made in China or Taiwan or Eastern Europe, can't really be counted as trumpets - they're not worth the metal they're made out of

The list hasn't been updated since 2004, though Spiri is on it (It's under Musik Spiri)

Wondering if anyone can help please. Clearing out my late parents loft and came across a silver plated trumpet that my father used to play. Guessing its circa 1940 but is an unknown make. The type of trumpet is the Bach style and has a stamped rather than engraved pattern on the horn with the words HARLEM and RECORD. Has anyone ever heard of this make ? Thanks

Interesting. I was going to ask about European horns and I find this. Wow. You can't throw East European horns in with Asian horns. For that matter, not even all Asian horns can be thrown in with all Asian horns, just as not all American horns can be thrown in with all American horns. Yamaha (Japanese), CarolBrass (Taiwanese), Amati (Czech): From what I see on the forum about all three brands, they're great horns.

Hi there! I've got a very old silver-plated trumpet of the brand "Montclair". Never heard of it and I cannot find any information about it. Only Montclair-related info is related to the school of music of the Montclair State University (NJ).

Does it ring a bell to anybody?

Most likely a "stencil", which is an instrument which is produced to be sold under the name of another company. For example Blessing made instruments were often made and stencilled as 'Silvertone" to be sold by the old Sears catalogue. I have a cornet and trumpet pair that were obviously Blessings but marked Hamilton Supreme, I suppose carried by the company that made music stands.

Many stencils were made in Eastern European countries in the mid twentieth century and today, many stencil brands are made cheaply in China, for example.

If you can post a photo someone here may be able to chase it down.
