Here are some more for the list (mainly European makers makers of rotary trumpets):

Beck: http://www.musikbeck.de
Josef Dotzauer: (only available through Antique Sound Workshop?) http://www.aswltd.com
Egger: http://www.eggerinstruments.ch/home.htm
Haagston: http://www.haagston.at
Michael Kordick: http://www.kordick.com
Ricco Kühn: http://www.ricco-kuehn.de
Posegger: http://members.aon.at/possegger/
Vienna Wind Instruments: http://www.vwi.at (I think they're making the Romeo Adaci horns now?)

There are also about a half-dozen natural trumpet makers I could name, too, but you have to draw the line somewhere...

Updated the list:

But FWIW, already had:
Egger under Blechblas-instrumentenbau Egger (but now have two entries)
Monke
Laetzch (but I had a typo in the name Latzsch- now corrected to Laetzsch to match web address)
Ricco Kühn (as Ricco-kuehn)

Keep 'em coming

David

Added Eclipse Trumpets to the list and its website: http://www.eclipsetrumpets.com/
But at time of this post, the website was giving an 'Action Cancelled' error message...

Life was so much simpler when the choices were Boston, Conn, and King!

We seem to have missed a couple of the classic UK makers

Boosey & Co. - ceased trading (became Boosey & Hawkes)
Hawkes & Son - ceased trading (became Boosey & Hawkes)
Silvani & Smith - ceased trading (if anyone knows anything about these, please let me know - I have one of their trombones, took it to Crispian Steele-Perkins and he told me that the factory shut down in 1894, but that's all the info I have got)

Boosey & Hawkes - still going strong, think Besson!

Hamilton trumpets? (someone's asking about them in another thread)

Also, I heard Couesnon is still in business but only in Europe... and is DeNicola no longer making PUJEs? I was surprised to see him listed as inactive/out-of-business...

I probably made a bad assumption because I couldn't find a website. I'll place the Puje and Couesnon back in the active list.

Were would you place the Hamilton brand?

David

edit: we're not talking about Hamilton trumpet stands, are we?

This may be off topic, but I wanted to say thanks for this listing. What a comprehensive list of horn makers.

Ive been knocking myself out trying to remember who made my trumpet. Yes, I would go look at it but its 950mi away at my folks place. Then I remembered the name... Julius Keilwerth.

A net search didn't turn up anything. Thanks to the listing here, It helped save my sanity and let me know that I'm not completely lost.

Now its time to have the old horn sent to me so I can get it fixed up and play it again.

Keilworth makes trumpets? I'm told by a sax playing friend that they (Julius Keilworth) are a top quality German Sax maker, but he nor I know anything about them making trumpets.

If I can get a hold of mine, I'll send you some pictures. But you'll need to excuse the flattened bell.

Mine was purchased for me by my parents in the early 80's when we lived in Berlin. Its a student model with steel valves and brass/laquer finish. It played well the last time I tried (about 12 years ago) and now has sticky valves and I'm sure it needs an overhaul.

Be safe,

Moved Boosey & Hawkes to the no longer trading section. (Musical instrument division bought by The Music Group)

Edit:
-I also placed the URLs under the name;
-re-arranged brands based on parent company (to the best of my knowledge)
-Found another hungarian manufacturer
