I was just searching the internet and found Gretsch.com -- a 120 year old company that makes guitars -- did they use to make trumpets??? and for the ZeuS fanatics, Z-M makes guitars too....

Gretch made drums too, for awhile that was their big product. How many times have I heard a drummer say "I just got this great old set of Gretch"...
The guitarist in a band I play in just got a Gretch Brian Setzer hollowbody guitar with money from an auto door vs bicycle accident settlement. He's in heaven just lookin at it. It's flame orange.
All the Gretch trumpets and cornets I've seen are student models.

If I'm not mistaken, Gretsch used to both distribute and re-brand Couesnon brass, tho the relationship ended, I think in the '70's.

A drummer I know recently commented that he once had a set of Gretsch drums - said they were great, but the hardware was junk. He replaced the hardware, and played them in local bands for several years.

Don't leave out the Miles trumpets (no relationship to Davis) that are built by Donald Miles out of Cincinnati. I met him and his products at the ITG conference 2 years ago. Great horns, but pricy. Around the 3k zone.

The brand i missed was First brass. it is a Dutch brand.

Here is the url http://www.musicallin.nl/FirstBrassEngels/FirstbrassEngels.htm

They bought the old Dutch brand Schenkelaars and still make trumpets.

GREAT LIST !

• Mirage (Likely asian)

Mirage is made in Taiwan. I've only seen the pocket trumpet which I'm pretty sure now is the Brasswind model pocket trumpet sold by Woodwind/Brasswind. It's a good one for tone.

• Lafayette - My first trumpet

I may have missed it; however, has anyone caught the name of that pocket trumpet from New Deli, India?

Thanks,

Brand name is "Jazz Studio"

of course, I can't guarantee that this is 'that pocket trumpet from New Delhi'...

A friend of mine plays a "goosen gusen or something like that. Anyone know what it is or who made it. It is definitely custom made.... Can't find him to ask him but have seen it but not inspected it for spelling etc.
