Um, your two choices are the same. Did you mean to do that?
One thing duct tape cannot do, at least cannot do well, is tape ducts. It is actually a terrible thing to use for that. |

Well, speaking as a true cajun coonass, duct tape can be used for literally anything, and I've seen some pretty creative uses in my time. If you drive through southern Louisiana long enough, you will see a lot of man-made car windows & back windshields from good ole duct tape.
Whoever invented duct tape is certainly up there in my book ... right next to God Himself. _________________ Bb - Yamaha Xeno 8335RGS

From: http://www.octanecreative.com/ducttape/duckvsduct.html
Quote: |
Is it Duct or Duck? We don’t want you to be confused, so we will explain. The first name for Duct Tape was DUCK. During World War II the U.S. Military needed a waterproof tape to keep the moisture out of ammunition cases. So, they enlisted the Johnson and Johnson Permacel Division to manufacture the tape. Because it was waterproof, everyone referred to it as “duck” tape (like water off a duck’s back). Military personnel discovered that the tape was good for lots more than keeping out water. They used it for Jeep repair, fixing stuff on their guns, strapping equipment to their clothing... the list is endless.
After the War, the housing industry was booming and someone discovered that the tape was great for joining the heating and air conditioning duct work. So, the color was changed from army green to the silvery color we are familiar with today and people started to refer to it as “duct tape*.” Therefore, either name is appropriate.
|
Course, they also have the following disclaimer:
Quote: |
Note: To be legally called “Duct Tape” the tape must meet or exceed certain heat requirements.

It can be used for many things - some (allegedly ) not suitable for public forums.
Definitely useful stuff to have around the house. |

In which case, you might be using it the wrong way?
Either that, or use Spencer Snake Oil instead |

Yeah, if you guys tune into the Red Green Show, a Canadian TV comedy, they demonstrate all kinds of uses for it. Some are rather creative to say the least !!

I have seen that before. I think they play that on KERA/PBS really late at night. _________________

I tried sealing a hole in my bike tire tube with duct tape (I was too poor to go buy another tube and I didn't have a kit), but it didn't work. And I heard somewhere that duct tape was invented for the purpose of fixing leaky pipes, but it didn't work for that purpose. So it works for everything except for what it was developed for, and fixing tire tubes. _________________ Bubba Ho-Tep is an awsome movie. You must see it at once! |

All the problems in the world can be fixed with Duct Tape and WD40....If it moves and it shouldnt use duct tape. If it doesnt move and it should, use WD40.

I made an airseat for my unicycle out of duck tape and an inner tube.
I also tried to fix the threads on my very stripped unicycle pedal. It worked
for 50 feet.
My dad laughed.

Why is Duct Tape like The Force?
It has a light side and a dark side and it holds the universe together!
