Bought a Vincent Bach Corp 5 mouthpiece from ebay. It was advertised as a cornet mouthpiece. It does fit the receivers on my cornet. The cup of this mouthpiece is huge and the shank is a little shorter than my long shank cornet mouthpiece.
Very deep low sound like a goose call.
My guess is a trombone mouthpiece. What type of mouthpiece is it?

Sounds like it may be the old style mellophone mouthpiece. The modern mellophones almost always use a trumpet shank, and can be played with trumpet mouthpieces but I prefer the tone of the tenor horn mouthpiece. The old style mellophones had a shank somewhere between a modern cornet and trumpet, and had a cup larger than any trumpet or cornet, but smaller than a tenor trombone cup. I have gotten several of these in odd lots of music equipment, the 5 cup is the most common I have seen, and the proportions look like a cornet piece, but are larger.

Thanks for the information about it being an old style mellophone mouthpiece. Have played tenor sax in the past, the sound of mouthpiece wasn't anything I recognized. Next week I will list the mouthpiece on ebay.
