I believe it was…  That list covers about 35 years, and I never owned more than 5 or 6 at once. Most of them were fairly inexpensive and I bought them just to see how they played. In the end, I kept the few that I really liked, and sold the others along the way.

I’ve never played a Conn 18A, but the Conn 15A and 17A were both much better players than the Reynolds Medalist I owned. I’d guess the 18A is probably a little better instrument than the two Conn Directors I owned.

I looked at your other post and the Conn example you linked is a 17A, not an 18A.

As a comeback player, one thing that didn't change was my addiction to buying musical instruments. I had the same behavior with golf equipment.
This time I focused on buying student cornets/trumpets, and mouthpieces. Valve oil and slide grease are needs not wants.
Waiting to receive a Jupiter 520 M shepherds crook cornet I bought on ebay.
Will try very hard to stop myself from immediately changing the adjustable 3rd slide ring to a fixed ring on the Jupiter. Likewise on converting the 1st slide to include a thumb saddle.
Now I remember the upsides and downsides of buying student musical instruments.
