It was written for Gerald Endsley in 1972, and recorded by Endsley in 1973 on an album titled MUSIC FOR TRUMPET on his Clarino record label (which no longer exists). Very rare recording indeed. The music is published through Jerry's Tromba Publications.
Nancy was a professional dancer in Denver. Her husband, Kaye, was a freelance trumpeter in Denver and a good friend of Jerry's. The piece is to be danced to in an improvisatory style while the trumpet player performs it on the side of the stage. It has a jazz style for much of it, especially variations 2 and 3. Of course, it can be performed without dancer too.
