Selmer K-Modified 3rd valve water key assembly

I was wondering if anyone could post their selmer k-modified 3rd valve water key assembly. I have not been able to find an adequate picture of one. I can not figure out for the life of me how the spring is supposed to go back into the housing. For reference, this is a 1961 model before they added the trigger on the first valve slide.

Any help is appreciated and thanks in advance.

Place the spring in the pocket on the lever, and then slide it in to the saddle from the top end so the little foot on the spring catches the edge of the saddle.

Good luck trying to re-install the third slide water key spring that has already been snipped. Water key springs have long spring tails which are snipped close to the assembly AFTER the spring and water key is installed. It is just about impossible to bend the short snipped tails of an old spring into position without scratching the instrument. (I've installed hundreds of water key springs in a full service repair shop,) A repair tech can install a new spring for minimal charge.

Update for anyone curious. Took it to a minor tune up and had them make a new one. I was able to get the old spring in the groove but the spring would not keep the water key closed which lead to it flopping open just from my blowing.

The angle of the spring is all-important to it working.
The old spring may not have enough "oomph" to keep it shut.
The person making the spring for you may have to do some experimenting- I use a Yamaha spring cut in half to start, then alter it as needed.
