The Music Lesson , by Victor Wooten.
I have read the first chapter of this book and I love it.
It is a different approach, with less weight on mechanics and more on spirituality.
It is in line with Kenny Weeler's book Effortless Mastery?
But do you think it is a path that works in the real world? _________________ Notice!!! Amateur musician without formal studies

I don't know about Wooten's book, but Keny Wheeler's stuff is just warmed-over New Age philosophy. For me, I get more from reading the original sources. And yes, that approach can work. _________________ "If you don't live it, it won't come out of your horn." Bird

Victor Wooten's perspective is truly refreshing, isn't it? The blend of spirituality and music is like a breath of fresh air compared to the usual technical approach. And if it resonates with Kenny Wheeler's "Effortless Mastery," you might be onto something profound. |

I am half way through it. I can only read a little bit at a time. It is a tough read for me because I feel his frustration with the lessons. It is like I am there with him. Great way to approach teaching various lessons about music. _________________ BRM
