I did buy Cronkhite triple about six months ago from Amazon, shipped by Torpedo, it arrived in about a week. Assuming they’re still in business, I THINK that’s the best way to buy anything from them currently. Doesn’t help anyone who is waiting for an order placed directly with Torpedo of course.
Steve Kreisel is a member here, maybe he’ll see some of this and respond?

A PM to user grizzle(Steve Kriezel) might work too. |

Good idea, I hadn’t thought of that.
My question to them was pretty minor, so I just let it go.

My guess is things may get harder for Torpedo/Cronkite.
With the HUGE rise of Gard Bags who are making great cases for a fraction of the price and Walt Johnson single cases getting close to re-release, gonna be an uphill climb for a company who promised a product years ago, only to not deliver.
To bad…..Torpedo Cases we’re very very good! |

Too bad... I bought one of the first torpedo bags, and have owned several over the years. Not currently using one, except sometimes my Outlaw Loredo. I've gotten to where I don't like taking lots of trumpets every where I go, and find myself often just taking one trumpet (most often C trumpet...occasionally Bb). I have an original Rocky Mountain Caseworks single that is freaking awesome... I was looking forward to getting a Volpe's Velox once it got off the ground...not sure that will ever happen now, unfortunately.
BUT... Steve is a great guy, and they make great products. Happy to give them as much business as I can!

I spoke to them recently about the fitment of a horn in a Torpedo. I was able to get in touch via just an unscheduled phone call during business hours, and had a brief email conversation afterwards. They took some time responding via email, but were decently responsive overall. You might trying giving them a ring. |

I was on the hunt since November to find one in stock and based on all of these types of threads, I did not want to order directly…
my wife got me one through dillions for Valentine’s Day.
Austin custom brass apppears to taking pre orders on the classic,… I guess they have confirmation they have a small handful on the way… ? You can also check with Steve at horn trader, sometimes he has some of their products in stock.
Happy hunting,

Their Facebook page hadn’t had a post since October 2020 until two posts on February 4th announcing being on WhatApp.
I suspect they have a long road ahead building back the trust and enthusiasm they earned in the past. |

Amazon or maybe eBay.
Seriously, at least as of very recently you could get them MUCH quicker that way, and they’re coming from Torpedo, not a third party.

I think it's universal these days-a lot of companies are struggling due to COVID and related stuff. I ordered a GARD case and it took months, and didn't hear from them for a couple of months. Their offices are in India and they got hit hard with the variants. Finally got it. It seems like Torpedo did a good job communicating what's been going on. I hope you get your case back soon :) _________________ '56 Martin Committee Deluxe #2 trumpet

Covid is becoming less and less of an excuse for a company that wants to be a going concern. We are 2+ years into the pandemic. If a company doesn't have a viable business plan by now, NGMI. |

I can tell you that factories closing, shipping problems, slow deliveries, etc. are very much still a problem. I continue to see that in my businesses. _________________ "Strive for tone." -John Coppola

Really? Even the grocery store isn't what it once was. Google for "supply chain" and look at the news entries. Many industries are having a hard time getting parts.
Things related to the live entertainment business (like anything related to trumpets) came to a dead stop for the better part of two years. I've been in two of my local big box guitar stores recently, and they're a shell of what they once were. They have as much buying power leverage as can be had, and their inventory is still minimal.
In addition, nobody can seem to find people willing to work. It's almost as though a great many people decided during the pandemic that working just wasn't worth it.
Business-wise we're certainly not back to normal yet.

Please, alan_o_, be combative. It's just the internet We might even be on the same side of this.
I stand by my point. Two years ago we stopped the world wide economy on a dime in a fit of hysteria. Some governments tried to help some businesses weather the storm. Those days are gone.
It's tough to generalise, but in many parts of the developed world now there is effectively full employment, people have money, and a desire to spend--maybe a desire to spend "now" that may be furthered by the worst inflation we've seen in 40 years.
Companies that got staffed up and got their supply chains sorted, even at an increased cost, will have customers. Companies that continue to say "boo hoo, Covid", their customers won't be keen to wait around. Sole proprietors of boutique instruments may have some insulation to the trend, but people looking for generic or semi-generic parts, accessories, and so forth will be less inclined to wait. |

The closure/slowdown of foreign factories is unpredictable. That's one of the main problems I've been having in getting supplies. _________________ "Strive for tone." -John Coppola

Wondering now too, as I'm getting a wild hair to try an Outlaw. Has anyone had luck ordering directly from their website? |
