This horn is beautiful!! I wish I could afford to get into the fray. These horns
are worth the money people are willing to spend. Civil War era instruments
in this kind of condition typically are sold for anywhere from $3000.00 to
$6000.00. I play a Boston Instrument Manufactory Eb Soprano side-action
rotary valve cornet made around 1861 in a Civil War style band (sadly, they
own the horn) and it has been appraised at $3600.00. This auction will probably
end up much closer to $2000.00.

I've been looking at that horn also, really beautiful horn, but eventually may be out of my price range. What a nice horn for the true collector though.
Hell, the case alone should be worth some nice bucks. What a nice piece of history.
