I was bored and I did a search on Claude Gordon. And I read some articles. And I already knew that Claude Gordon was a great teacher and this and that. But I learned allot of new things. For example that back in his days he was obviously a great trumpeter. Well known I am guessing since he did allot of stuff during his life time. Could anyone that knows anything about Claude Gordon the performer tell me how he was as a trumpeter? What was he known for (what type of music) How were his trumpet skills? Just stuff that I would like to know.

When he played lead he counted all the misses he had in a years time. I heard he only needed one hand. Nuff Said.

Claude basically came from the Herbert L. Clarke school. A very technical player with great range. His recordings kinda sounded like Clarke with a big band. Very impressive technically but a little corny musically. Most of his work was live radio shows in the 40's, then live tv in the 50's. By mid 60's he retired from active performing to concentrate on teaching. You can get CD's from his web site.
