Hey everyone!
I just was asked to join two new groups- a brass trio and a brass quartet. I'm very excited as fewer people=more $ and less confusion/schedule conflicts. Yay! Unfortunately, the trio's arrangements are really lame and the quartet has some killin rep written by the other trumpet player, but it's all more of the jazz genre. We don't have any useful arrangements for this sort of work!
I'm wondering if anyone can give me some recommendations for holiday and/or ceremonial books for brass trio or quartet. The trio's instrumentation is trumpet, horn, bass trombone (he doubles on trombone) and the quartet is two trumpets, tenor trombone, bass trombone. In particular I know I've used a plastic spiral-bound book for Christmas tunes- some of them were kind of jazzy and people liked them. I've lost contact with the guy who had the books though. I remember it had a white cover with red drawings of carolers on the front, and it had some tunes I never heard of before like "Bring a torch, Jeanette Isabella".
Thanks! |
