I play a GR e65M and a GR e66MS. What Monettes would be closest in diameter? I've heard the MFII is a great piece, but I wonder how it compares in size to my GR's.

The monette B6L would be equivalent to a Bach 3D, which has an inner diameter of .660, hence your Gr 66ms. Depending on what type of playing you do primarily, a STC-1 weight would be for all around playing, while a LT weight would be better for lead.

The MFII has a 10 1/2 bach rim (approximately) much more narrow that either of your GR pieces

Hope this helps

Jason

Mark,
Why don't you call Dave Monette and ask him?
You know the measurements of your GR pieces, you can even give Dave the link to the GR website. I am sure Dave would be more than happy to give you accurate numbers like GR has.

Hey, I thought the Monette MFII was basically the same as the BL2? The backbore and throat entrance being the only difference besides a more comfy rim. And the BL2 compares to a 13A4. This is a far cry from a Bach 10 1/2 that someone posted above!

Ha! Just cleaned up the studio an hour ago, and already having my books organized is paying off. Got my Monette catalog rightchere...Joe Cool is right on. -- BL2 = 13A4. MFII compares to BL2. Ergo, no 10 1/2C.
My BL2 is great as is my BL3, but I'd like to experience the MFII and B4LD. Gonna be hard to get me to part with my Callet DT-10 and GR tho.
