Well I'm glad I'm not the only one keenly interested in this topic!
Having suffered a left rotator cuff injury in my teens, I'm now in my late 50s and find that holding my Flugelhorn (in particular) causes me discomfort as the gig wears on.
I was going to have my left shoulder x-rayed at my own expense, but it seems that my problem is not uncommon therefore is probably "wear and tear"?
On a side note, I have also taken to recently warming up on cornet because I don't suffer any shoulder pain while holding the cornet and it has improved my sound 😲 _________________ Too many trumpets 🤣
