I have an Xeno Hard Double Trumpet Case without a divider and am interested in making it into a double trumpet case as was intended. I tried searching for the divider part online, however it was out of stock. Thus, I need a DIY solution that works well and protects the instruments. What suggestions do you guys have?
Thanks.

Do it yourself options will depend on your skill and availability of tools and components. Years ago I made a divider by cutting a length of heavy cardboard that fit the length and height of the case notches, and cut foam panels to cushion the horns and had my wife sew a tight fitting cover.

It is still being used in another bag to separate the horn from accessories, but, due to the potential of cardboard bending, were I to do it again I would use either 1/8" plywood or panelling, or possibly masonite, since I now have a table saw. Most lumberyards will make a few cuts for you when you buy materials.

I had a Schilke quad case missing one of the dividers. I made one out of a piece of 3/16 plywood, foam and some velveteen fabric. It was not a straightforward job, and involved both sewing and a hot glue gun.

Good options above. For one case, I cut to size a cardboard-like material, but I can't recall what it was. It was black in color, came in sheets that were maybe 2'x3' size or larger, and about 4mm thick. I got it at either at Hobby Lobby or Michael's. I had to "score" it and break it. It was a little more durable and resistant to bending than regular cardboard.

I wrapped it with pillow batting (probably ½ inch) and used spray fabric glue to get it to adhere to the board. Then I had a seamstress cut and sew some velvet around it. If I had to do it over again, I'd probably use anti-tarnish silvercloth, instead of the velvet, since many of my horns are silver plated (and which wouldn't matter against other finishes).
