Having been a trombone player who started trying to double on flugelhorn (albeit around 40 years ago), the largest flugelhorn mouthpiece I found was a Schilke 24F. It was an expensive special order (for the time -- I believe it cost $80!), but it was the only rim I could really fit my chops in.
It looks like www.mouthpieceexpress.com will sell a Schilke 24F with a "hybrid" shank for $121. "Currently out of stock." The Schilke is significantly wider than the Wick 2, but the cup is nowhere near as deep. _________________ J. Notso Nieuwguyski |
