It looks like Dillon, ACB, Amazon, and other vendors have the Outlaw in stock: https://www.dillonmusic.com/torpedo-bag-outlaw-single-black-fabric-trumpet-case/
I would probably avoid ordering directly from Torpedo, as their turnaround times seem to be pretty hit-or-miss. A separate vendor who has one on hand will likely get it shipped out faster. |

Shot in the dark: I'm still waiting on a refund for my preordered updated Coyote case that I was supposed to get within a few weeks back when I requested it in 2019.
I've asked them again I don't know how many times, but haven't gotten any answers. Does anyone here know what's going on with them? It looks like they're still in business, but the flow of "it's coming soon, we promise!" emails seems to have stopped. |

I succeeded in getting a Velox refund after repeated attempts and pestering them. I finally got a response in October 2021 from a new Director of Sales and Marketing, Jen. Very apologetic, issued the refund. Not sure if she's still there. _________________ Kanstul 1600

Checking back in: I've got some (context-adjusted) good news here. I emailed Torpedo again to remind them that they promised me a refund then failed to give it, and got an email back about ten days later apologizing and asking for my PayPal info to issue me a refund. I sent it to them, and a week later, they sent me the refund.
They're still probably never going to have my unqualified admiration, but they did eventually make this right. (Or as close to right as is realistic and available.) |

Business opportunity
Everybody knows what’s involved with these bags. If anybody has seen one, it can be replicated. A person can source the manufacturing and the materials.
Walt Johnson reached out to a boat manufacturer out in California and created the hard fiberglass case that the wild thing trumpets came in. The Walt Johnson cases.
Every few months people are upset about this torpedo issue. Rightly so. It’s a good quality bag. Especially when people order something and they don’t get a refund during a transition or anything of that nature.
If there’s a will then there is a way. These bags can be recreated.
Foam, plastic, metal, labor, price tag, shipping. |
