I'm out of the trumpet buying game (because I have too many and I haven't played in a few years).

However, how do you find all these estate sale trumpets?

I would have been in more trouble if I could have done that locally in the past. Craigslist used to be my thing, but it seems to have fallen out of favor somewhat.

I spend time multitasking during boring meetings searching through the pictures in on-line auctions. Most have minimal if any descriptions, so it's something of a needle in a haystack effort.

I very much appreciate the effort.

Heh... forty years ago I was briefing a General officer on weather impacts to a proposed Air Force operation. He had his head down reading a document the entire time I was talking. Returning to my office I mentioned that to my commander. The Captain said, "Lieutenant, he was absorbing the important parts of your briefing, culling information from that document and probably picking up on side conversations being held by other officers in the room."

Multi-tasking is a marvelous skill to have!

I think to be a good musician, you have to be good at multitasking. You need the ability to simultaneously pay attention to the conductor, the changing time and key signatures, breath control, the slightly out of tune pitch the trombone is playing so you can match it, while also saving some lip for the high D you know is coming up. Oh, and playing musically.
