The Music Lesson , by Victor Wooten.
I have read the first chapter of this book and I love it.
It is a different approach, with less weight on mechanics and more on spirituality.
It is in line with Kenny Weeler's book Effortless Mastery?
But do you think it is a path that works in the real world? _________________ Notice!!! Amateur musician without formal studies

I don't know about Wooten's book, but Keny Wheeler's stuff is just warmed-over New Age philosophy. For me, I get more from reading the original sources. And yes, that approach can work. _________________ "If you don't live it, it won't come out of your horn." Bird

Victor Wooten's perspective is truly refreshing, isn't it? The blend of spirituality and music is like a breath of fresh air compared to the usual technical approach. And if it resonates with Kenny Wheeler's "Effortless Mastery," you might be onto something profound. As for whether it works in the real world, I believe any path that connects us deeper with our music can have real-world benefits. Even as an amateur musician without formal studies, exploring different perspectives like this can only enrich your musical journey. If you ever want to delve even deeper, I've found online music lessons to offer some surprising insights.

I am half way through it. I can only read a little bit at a time. It is a tough read for me because I feel his frustration with the lessons. It is like I am there with him. Great way to approach teaching various lessons about music. _________________ BRM
