Who is the Black woman on the Pfizer ad I saw on TV tonight? I would like to go hear her play. |

I'm guessing it's an actor portrayal, but I could be wrong. Here's the video.

From the little I saw of her fingers they coincided with the notes that she was playing. |

Agreed. But there's no way I could move my head the way she does while playing. Side to side? I'm guessing she's an actor... But it's merely a fun guess. _________________ Jonathan Milam

Huh. It does look like someone who knows what they are doing.
To those who say that they couldn't play while moving their head like that -- the player would have recorded the music and then just mimed along ("lip-sync") while it played back to make the video. You do things in a video that you couldn't and wouldn't do when trying to play. Think American Bandstand.
Thanks for pointing out that commercial! |

When filming a commercial like this, don't they commonly record the audio separate from the video? In support of this, there are 4 separate camera angles of her playing between the 5-second and 20-second marks. So even if this is her playing, it was likely recorded separately, and she is likely lip-syncing in the video.

At least she looks like she is playing. So many commercials are insulting to musicians in the lack of attention to musical detail. _________________ Music is a fire in your belly, fighting to get out. You'd better put a horn in the way before someone gets hurt. |

Definitely acting for the commercial, but maybe they’re real musicians. Looks like she’s leading a 4-piece jazz band and everyone is using their instruments right. It’s probably easier to hire musicians than train a group of actors to fake it for a short commercial where they’re not even speaking on camera.
It *could* be stock footage but Pfizer’s ad department probably has deeper pockets than that. _________________ 1971 Yamaconn cornet (my comeback horn)

I especially love it when the music is something like a string quartet, plainly audible as such, and you see a big band of 'musicians' holding their horns incorrectly, and moving fingers at random intervals, not a clue by the production crew on what instruments produce the sound of the audio clip they're using underneath.
Happens all the time in movies and TV Shows, when there's a 'dance band' playing for example, yet the musical instruments that are shown on the film/video or entirely wrong for the music being heard. Or, you hear a full string swell up in the background of some 'rock and roll' band on stage. _________________ "Music is like candy, you throw the (w)rappers away." |

Her name is Esther Romeo. She is from Mississauga, On.
She is a close friend of my wife's, she considered my mother in law her mother (she lost her mother at a young age).. Esther recently got involved in modeling and acting. As far as wife remembers she has never played the trumpet or any instrument for that matter. |

Perhaps, if there was any indication that it is true.
Anyone seeking work as a model would have an internet presence. I see nothing after a brief search.
Not saying that the claim made here isn’t true. I just prefer more proof. |

"Pharma" is willing to sell you BS if you'll buy it. What would make you think they would show you truth in a commercial?
Come on? They [commercials] use white glue instead of milk to make cereal look better!!!? They use actors playing doctors... musicians...
It's all smoke and mirrors. Go out and see some real live music and stop believing commercials. _________________ Zan |
