I'm sorry, but if you're going to be asking for that kind of money, you gotta give me more than just one little picture! It's all about marketing, isn't it? People who take the time, effort and expense to post lots of good pictures (especially closeups) of their horns on eBay are the ones who are going to be successful.
That said, I'll admit I'm completely ignorant about this model and the bid could be through the roof by this time tomorrow. _________________ Kanstul F Besson International 800 Bb

Sure looks a steep price!! Notice how the guy has no feedback and starts out selling an $1800 dollar horn - should we be wary it is a 'Conn'?

The 6B was the poor mans Constellation.
That price is nuts.

I had a brand new Conn 6B in December, 1962...a Christmas present from me to me.
I will assure you the horn was NOWHERE near $1,800 in cost, and it simply is NOT the type of horn that would probably be anywhere near that price years later. It if were the only one of its model left in the world, it could be more valuable as a result.
But people will charge whatever they think the market will bear. Maybe the seller was coerced to try to sell the instrument, and he/she set such a ridiculous price (that having attempted the sale) could truthfully say (7 days later) that he/she tried but had no luck.
I saw a 1929 Model A vehicle at a swap meet about 10 years ago. The owner had a $20,000 price tag on it...no way...as the car was NOT in pristine condition. His wife probably wanted him to sell it. Maybe he got to keep it after all.
Sincerely,
Lex Grantham

"The 6B was the poor mans Constellation. That price is nuts. " ---- Mr. Hollywood
A friend of mine picked up what I believe is a 6B Victor for about $500 a couple months ago, and this horn was in pretty nice shape for it's age. It looks to be pretty much the same as the one in the ebay add too. His has the wide wrap, the Coprion leadpipe and a standard brass bell, but is otherwise dimensionally the same as the 38B Constellation.
You're certainly right though. That price is nuts. _________________ Patrick Gleason

I agree, that price is absurd... even for European standards for a 6B Victor like that in pristine condition (which I don't know if this one is).
Personally, I kind of like the 6A/6B Victor. A little easier to handle than the Connstellation (but still no featherweight) and plays really nice.
